I specialize in patient-facing AI, decision-making and research methods.
My name is Marvin, and I am a Researcher & Data Scientist focusing on developing human-centered AI systems that support real-world decision-making. I study how people (often in health-related contexts) make decisions in the real world, and how technology can improve rather than override human judgement. Drawing on behavioral science and models of naturalistic decision-making (e.g., Gigerenzer, Klein, Simon), I design human-AI systems that work with human thinking and behavior, not against it.
I have a PhD (from the Berlin Institute of Technology), a Doctor of Medical Science (from Charité – University Medicine Berlin), hold an MSc in Human Factors, an MPH in Public Health Leadership, and a BSc in Psychology. Currently, I am employed at the Berlin Institute of Technology and conduct research on human-AI interaction in health use cases. I’m also an Honorary Research Associate at Imperial College London where I conduct research on self-care.
